Recently, the reporter learned from the official website of the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) that the specialized international standard "Stainless steel wire ropes" in the field of steel wire ropes, led by China, has been officially approved and released by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO). The release of this standard marks a further increase in China's international influence in the field of steel wire ropes.
This international standard was officially approved in May 2020, with experts from the Metallurgical Industry Information Standards Research Institute as the project convener and experts from Hongsheng Group Co., Ltd. as the project leader. At the same time, it was jointly drafted by relevant domestic and foreign experts.
It is reported that stainless steel wire ropes are mainly used in fields such as instrument and mechanical transmission, slings, shock absorbers, yachts, and building structures. With the development of the global economy, the application fields of stainless steel wire ropes are continuously expanding to industries such as automobiles, chemicals, aviation, and healthcare. Due to different application industries and purposes, the materials used for stainless steel wire ropes and the performance requirements for stainless steel wire ropes vary from country to country, and universal international standards for stainless steel wire ropes are urgently needed. This standard is based on the actual production and application research of stainless steel wire ropes. It analyzes the applicability and universality of relevant standards for stainless steel wire ropes in various countries, and determines the technical requirements for the structure and specifications of stainless steel wire ropes, as well as the quality of stainless steel wire rope twisting.
